Fishing Position Announcement

Camp High Rocks, a private boys camp in Western North Carolina, has instructor positions open for our fishing program. Our program focuses on the entire aspect of the sport including habitat, knots, pole setup, casting, landing, releasing, and other fishing techniques and methods.  Instruction will be provided through a progression of skills including cane pole, spin cast, bait cast, and fly fishing methods. Staff will lead campers through a progression of skills on our twelve acre lake and then provide tripping opportunities on other local lakes and streams.

Responsibilities: Oversee and instruct one hour lessons on our twelve acre lake.   Work through a progression of skills that will provide for successful fishing adventures.  Male staff would also serve as a cabin counselor for group of 6 boys.

Qualifications: At least 19 years of age or rising college sophomore. Applicants should have experience with fishing techniques and methods. Preference given to those who possess knowledge in multiple methods as well as instruction experience.

Benefits: From $250 to $400 per week for the nine week season, depending on experience and qualifications. Room, board and laundry are included.  Training courses available in late May.
