Major Ice Storm hits Camp High Rocks
February 12, 2010 by Don Gentle
Winter has hit us once again! The snow that usually melts after twenty-four hours, has still been here since December! Most of that has been on the north facing slopes, but there is still a lot of snow on the trails too. Each time the snow begins to melt, we get a little more. It’s really been quite a winter wonderland this year!
This past week, we got hit with a little snow, but also a good bit of ice. We lost a good number of limbs and a couple trees, and power for a bit. The beauty of the event is that all of the buildings were spared! We just have a ton of debris to clean up.
The one cool part is that Hank took some great pictures. It’s amazing how neat some things are when you look at it from a different angle. The ice storm is definitely not an event you wish for, but it can be beautiful too! All the mess should be cleaned up and ready to go come April!!! I can’t wait for summer to get here!
Enjoy the photos!
