Another beautiful day at Camp! As we near the second week of camp I cannot believe how much action we have packed into that time. Today we had another five trips head out of camp. The paddlers spent another day on the Chattooga River in South Carolina. The climbers wrapped up their two day trip to the Obed in Tennessee where they enjoyed great climbing. The mountain bikers headed over to DuPont State Forest for a morning ride. The boys from Foxhollow headed to Worley’s Cave for a day of mud, adventure, and squeezing through cool formations. Hiking took another day trip to what we refer to as High Pisgah, the portion of Pisgah National Forest that is around the Blue Ridge Parkway. They enjoyed beautiful weather and many beautiful vistas on their hike today.
Sailor’s enjoyed a great day on the lake with steady wind. They got to try out many of their skills they have been perfecting over the last two weeks in somewhat calmer conditions. Woodworking projects for the afternoon classes in crafts have almost reached completion. We have quite a few dog bowl holders, a fishing cabinet, several ping pong paddles along with many other highly creative projects. The boys love the opportunity to work in the shop and can’t wait to bring home their treasures!
Many of the boys have been gathering props and ideas all week for skit night this evening. It always proves to be a night enjoyed by all of camp. Each year the campers and staff impress me with their creativity. Please keep this in mind tomorrow night when you will see many strange looking campers and staff in the pictures!
I hope you enjoy the pictures again tonight and have a great evening. We will see you one week from today- I can’t believe it!
