New Discoveries at Camp!

New discoveries at camp can include discovering that you can do things that, at first glance, seemed difficult or impossible. New discoveries can be learning about taking care of yourself and making decisions for yourself. Sometimes new discoveries are simply about discovering something new at camp! We’re always updating cabins and fixing stuff during the winter, but this year we actually added some new things- an island, a bridge to the island, a trail to the island, & geese that think it is their island! We’ve already had hikes visit the island, paddlers go around the island, and our fishing group has tried out the fishing from the island. We’re still thinking of ways to incorporate the island into our program!
We had a few trips out of camp today including a Green River canoeing trip, a Caving trip to Worley’s Cave, and a climbing trip to the South Face of Looking Glass Rock. If you don’t see your camper in today’s pictures, he might have been out of camp on one of those trips. Four cabins are on their cabin overnights tonight- Windswept, Outpost, Flattop, and Hillside. Tomorrow there will be four more trips out of camp and a few cabins going on their cabin overnight. As the session progresses there are several days that will have six or seven trips away from camp.
We are still working out a few kinks with the pictures. If you are having any trouble accessing the pictures here are a few things to try:
- Give up on Internet Explorer & use Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari instead! Only half joking here- most of our internet issues are with Internet Explorer.
- Make sure your settings allow cookies (or at least allow them from www.highrocks.com).
- If you want to save a particular picture or send the direct link to someone, just click on the picture & it will open another screen with just that picture showing.
- Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you’ve tried these things & are still having issues.
Enjoy tonight’s pictures! We’re having a great time!
