One More Day!

Wednesday Pictures

Friday is the last day of camp!

Several campers have received messages from home saying “we’ll see you on Saturday”.  This is important- Friday is Parent’s Day & the last day of camp!

Now on with the blog (I’ll only say Friday two more times, I promise!).

This three-week session has flown by!  Today was the last full day of regular activities and trips.  The weather was perfect!  Plenty of breeze for the sailboats, lots of sunshine, and warm enough to make the lake refreshing for our swimmers; there was barely a cloud in the sky! It was a jam-packed day with one last caving trip, a rock climbing trip to Looking Glass Rock, a Chattooga River trip, a mountain biking trip, an all-day “rock hop” hike, and the three-day hike returned to camp!  It sure has been an incredible session.  Horseback riding finished their “Rolex Three-Day Event” today with cross country & stadium jumping events!  Tomorrow the horseback folks will be riding bareback & painting ponies.  Tonight is cabin night, a final night for cabin group activities and a time to look back over the accomplishments made during the session.  What a session we have had!

We’re looking forward to seeing all of you on Friday morning. You are welcome to bring family and friends – we make plenty of lunch to cover guests that aren’t in our original count. If you know of anyone that is interested in a camp session for their son, they are also welcome to join us & see what we are all about firsthand.

Remember, the guys will be ready to see you about 9:45am, please do not plan to arrive until after 9:15am when we have staff in place to load trunks and show you where to park. The campers will be singing all of their favorite songs in assembly that morning until about 9:40. After you stop by the gym and get your son’s trunk loaded you will park in campfire field. You can then meet up with your son after assembly ends up by the dining hall. He can show you around his activities and demonstrate the skills he learned throughout the session.

Lunch will be served for everyone beginning around 11:30am, but feel free to continue visiting with your son’s counselors and friends. Be sure to catch up with your son’s counselor and stop by the cabin to get any belongings that did not get into the trunk.  During the morning or on your way out, don’t forget to check out at the office and pick up your son’s envelope with cabin pictures, store account refund (hopefully!), and other important items.

There may be pictures tomorrow, but probably fewer that normal.  If you would like a high-quality version of all the pictures from the session, we will have extra flash drives with all of the pictures from the session for sale, even if you didn’t pre-order one. If you want to reserve one, just drop a line to townsend@highrocks.com.  We’ll have one in your packet, ready to go.

Tomorrow there is one more canoeing trip, special morning events in the activities, and one last camp-wide event in the afternoon after trunks are packed. Take care & safe travels as you head our way!

See you Friday!
