The SUN!!!

Pictures from July 6th, 2013

Another great day at camp! I felt like I had to add a feature picture with some sunshine in it!  A little rain fell here and there, but all in all it was a great day.  I enjoyed hosting our Starter 1 families for their closing day this morning.  What a great bunch of boys.  I am certain these guys will be leading the charge for the next group of awesome High Rocks boys.  I think everyone of them want to come back for a longer session next year.  I can’t wait.

Saturday activities tend to have a little more of a fun component to them along with their normal instruction.  Fishing had a blast baiting bluegill at the swim docks while trying to catch them with a net.  There were many success stories.  There was more fun over at the canoe docks where the guys played a little combination of water polo, canoeing, and canoe fill-ups.  What a blast!  Horseback riding was back at it today with everyone getting out on their horses today; a welcomed event from the last few days.  Mountain biking held strong and hit the trails again today; a muddy events indeed!

Tonight we hosted the older ladies from Camp Illahee for a square dance.  I drove the younger half over to Illahee for a smaller version of the same event.  What an awesome place for a girl to go to camp.  Laurie and Gordon do an excellent job. My oldest daughter will be heading there later this summer for her first overnight camp experience.  I can’t wait to hear all about it.  Anyhow, everyone enjoyed the social event and a change of pace from the past week.

It’s off to bed for some much needed rest…and I’m pretty sure the Krispy Kreme fairy is coming tonight! Shhhh, don’t tell! It’s a secret 🙂 .  Tomorrow brings more adventure and excitement.   I can’t wait to tell you about it! Have a great night.  Enjoy the pictures.
