We’re Not Floating Yet!

Holy Cow! It almost didn’t rain today! That’s how positive we are around here! The boys were very excited to have time in their activities without any rain. We even sent out little laundry fairies to grab all the wet stuff off the cabin clotheslines that did not have a prayer of drying in the last couple of days. The boys were surprised and excited to have some fluffy towels in their cabins when they returned. A big thanks to Woody, Dan, and Mark who washed and dried all wet stuff today.
I really enjoyed getting around camp today. You see, all of those awesome pictures we have had so far this week were taken by our talented photographer, Ham. He does such a great job! Well today was his day off, which allows me to have an excuse to do nothing but make my way around camp and see what everyone is up to in their activities. And I did just that! It was wonderful! I must say it was a little stressful trying to come up with something that would measure up to the last few days.
My journey allowed me to see how much these guys are learning already in just a few days. So many of these campers pick up right where they left off last year. There were many fish caught, canoes turned, towers climb, wood nailed, and boats sailed all through the day! The sun finally showed its face around 11am today. A nice reminder of how delightful a sunny day can be!
We had two trips that headed out today. One group of canoes headed out to find a acceptable river. A group of hikers headed over to DuPont Forest to see how a few inches of rain can affect all those awesome waterfalls; a great site to see.
We continued with our cabin overnights tonight. There was a little bit of rain in the forecast, but the boys were not concerned. Some even rushed off to beat the rain. Other groups continued on with some fun evening activities like the water slide, dodgeball, and a few other exciting games.
Tomorrow looks to be a good day with a lesser chance of rain! The weekend has many exciting events ahead. Tune back in tomorrow to find out what we did!
Have a great night!
Don

Loved seeing grandson, Lee Anderson. He’s really smiling and having fun! Was that some kinda woodworking they were doing? Looked like he was with his cabin. You are great to send family and friends so many good pictures. So sorry about the rain but you all are having more fun than we are at Lake Toxaway! Hoping for some dry days soon. Lola Battle
