Best Day Ever!

Today’s Pictures

Well, it’s been three weeks already…  I can’t believe it’s over.  It has been such an incredible time. Sure we all had fun (a whole heap of fun!), but it was so much more than that.  We learned some new skills.  We got dirty; I mean really dirty!  There were times that frustrated us, and sometimes we were even upset. Yep.  We don’t like to think about camp being a place where we might get upset, or even mad.  It happens here too.  But it also happens in a place where we can ask for help.  A place where our cabin mates can prop us up to get through.  It sure makes a lot of difference when you are surrounded by a community that is always looking out for you.  I will say that there are a whole lot of boys that made new friends, learned a little bit more about themselves and definitely have a little more grit.  That’s what makes camp special, but it is what High Rocks is all about.

I wish everyone safe travels tonight and tomorrow.  Again, things will get started around 10:00 AM.  Feel free to come in a few minutes early, load up your trunk, park, and wait out by the bell.  It’s a hoot to hear these guys sign most of the songbook tomorrow morning.  After you meet up with your son, be sure to hunt down your son’s cabin counselor.  He has a lot to tell you about these last three weeks.  Your son’ts counselor may be helping out in activity, so be sure to stop by to see him.

Make sure you stop by the cabin to get any of the items that were not in the trunk.  If your son went did pottery or crafts, he will also have projects to pick up.  Everyone needs to checkout at the office before leaving as well.  Most importantly, stay for lunch and enjoy your time here.  Your son sure did!

I am looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow.

Don

Thank you so much for spoon feeding High Rocks feelings to all parents and alum. Your words define the meaning of Summer Camp.
