A Reunion Morning

Today’s Pictures

We sure enjoyed our moment with all the of the Starter II and Mini I parents this morning.  These boys sure had an excellent time here!  I always enjoy seeing how excited the parents are after these sessions because, for many of them, it is a first time experience.  It was a wonderful reunion, though some of the boys wanted to stay just a little longer. The guys were excited to tour around camp with their parents and tell them all about the neat activities.  We have a new group of Mini’s in on Monday. While I miss the old group already, I am already excited for the new one!

We had some really cool stuff happening in activities.  Hiking was working real hard on primitive fire skills. Climbing was testing the boys by challenging them in new ways. Some of the boys were blindfolded or maybe their hands tied together.  Others were practicing “crate stacking,” a game of balance and strength to see who can stack up the most crates under them without falling.  Although, I feel like the fall can be very fun as you watch all the crates crash below you just as the rope catches you.  Canoeing had their annual Waterworld Day!  A fun day of stacking up all the canoes into a floating mass, while they all pay tribute to Kevin Costner’s Epic Tale.  All the while screaming “Hale Costner!”

This afternoon it was back to activities as usual until 5pm.  At that time everyone headed back to the cabins for pre-dance beautification hour.  It’s a good time to shower up, find some clean clothes and get ready for the girls of Rockbrook Camp.  All of the girls came to us this year.  It was a beautiful evening of nervous excitement and a perfect opportunity to learn some social graces.  We sure do like those Rockbrook girls.  They are always polite and kind. After some quality country square dancing we sent the girls home.  It was time to call it a day.

Tomorrow we get to sleep in just a bit longer.  Our morning will be nice and relaxed followed by another intense afternoon of games and excitement. I hope your day was as fun as ours!

Enjoy the pictures,

Don
