Rest and Relaxation
June 14, 2015 by Don Gentle

It sure was a delightful Sunday morning! Of course, it started with our usual drop off from the Krispy Kreme fairy last night! The boys were pretty excited about that. We also enjoyed a nice morning service down by the lake that included great music from the band and a lesson from Zoob about The High Rocks Way. Feel free to click on the link to see the basis of her discussion. It was a great presentations about the mission of High Rocks and some of the pillars we focus on while being here.
After our morning time by the lake, the boys spent the remainder of the morning with free time/choice. Many of the guys chose to be down at the lake taking in a swim, floating a paddle board, paddle a canoe, sail, role a kayak, or maybe catch a fish. Those not at the lake were playing tennis, four square, disc golf, gaga ball, or climbing in the bouldering cave.
The morning was followed by a hefty lunch of southern fried chicken, stuffing, green beans, rice, salad and those amazing yeast rolls. Once again, lunch helped us relax right into rest hour to watch a perfectly timed thunderstorm roll through the mountains and drop about 3 inches of rain in a hour. Life in a rain forest… As the clouds parted the boys enjoyed some large group games on the field for the late afternoon.
We wrapped up our day with a great cookout on the lawn including hamburgers, hot dogs, and all the fixins. Then we headed up the hill for our weekly campfire where we sing a few songs, listen to a great story, reflect on the past week, and prepare for the week ahead.
It is hard to believe but we only have twelve days left in this session. How time flies!
Have a great evening,
Don Gentle
