Mini II Overnights
July 20, 2017 by Don Gentle

Our Mini II guys headed out on a perfect evening for their cabin overnight experience. The boys will spend the night out in one of five open-air shelters on our property. They will make pita pizzas, smores, and play some games around the fire. It will be an exciting event had by all! I can’t wait to hear the stories in the morning!
We had a number of special events and trips today. This is the time of the session for our four-week boys where their skills pay off with the reward of more challenging adventures. Our paddlers and rock climbers were the first out the door this morning. Both trips had eaten breakfast and were gone by 8:15 A.M. Swimming had a wonderful afternoon tubing trip this afternoon. It was a great way to beat the heat! Everyone on the two-day survival hike appeared to have “survived.” They all had a lot of fun.
Zoob and Woody spread some cheer around camp with the “float and float” event. We enjoyed some fun down by the lake floating around sipping on root beer floats! I couldn’t think of a better summertime event.
As promised, the fisherman and I had a great time frying up some fish from the lake. Several of the boys took the opportunity to come into the kitchen to see how it all works. They were able to dredge their fish in flour, then some beer batter, and then put it in the deep fryer. Of course, there were several more who were excited about tasting the lovely fried fish product. There are some good pictures from the event.
Tonight the rest of camp enjoyed some time on the rope swing, water slide, a little fun on the lake, and one age group was enjoying some excellent dodgeball. We have a lot of excitement coming up this weekend. I can’t wait to share it with you!
