5 Things We Are Thankful For
November 24, 2017 by Don Gentle

Happy Thanksgiving!
We hope it was filled with family time, laughter, and delicious food. While we at Camp High Rocks are thankful to be a part of an amazing community, we wanted to give special thanks to a few particular things about camp.
5 Things We Are Thankful For:
1. Cinnamon Rolls
Our Head Chef Nate Noland and our amazing kitchen staff’s cinnamon rolls this summer were handmade from scratch. Yum! We wish we could see a few cinnamon rolls on our dining room tables this Thanksgiving.
2. Hollywood Quality Mud
This summer the mud in our mud pit, thanks to our Head of Maintenance, Danny Stewart, was high quality! It was smooth, wet, and filled with campers. Thank you to our maintenance crew for producing such Hollywood quality mud!
3. Phenomenal Summer Staff
With Summer 2017 under our belts, we can not help but look back and be thankful for the great summer staff! The staff this summer went above and beyond at every turn from creating Theme Days (Who else wants a return of Harry Potter Dinner next year?) to counselor-camper tennis tournaments!
4. North Carolina Weather
A mixture of sun, rain, and a few clouds, the weather at Camp High Rocks could not have better this summer and fall. In the summer we enjoy sunny days with short afternoon showers to cool things off and in the fall we enjoy cooler temperatures with the smell of leaves in the air.
5. Pure, Simple Fun
We are thankful for FUN! All summer long, we dive back into our childhoods and have pure, simple fun. We love having the opportunity to play with our campers. Woody is known for a mean gaga game! We are looking forward to another summer of FUN for 2018.
As an office, we are thankful for Camp High Rocks and how it allows us to partner with parents to help raise their children. What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? Again, Happy Thanksgiving!
