The holidays are right around the corner and so are Black Friday Sales. Needing a good gift for your camper or a few suggestions to send to his grandparents? Check out our First Year Camp Gift Ideas below for must-have items for a 1st Year Camper! (Update: 11/22/2021)

Mad Libs – A bit of downtime at camp is important. After lunch, campers settle into their cabins for an hour of downtime. Many campers pass the time reading books or playing Mad Libs quietly with friends. Check out a wide array of options from Avengers-themed to Scooby-Do here!

Crazy Creek Chair – Every First Year Camper’s dream is to have this chair! Great for hanging out in the cabin, taking on your overnight camping trip, and for Sunday evening campfire. We have three colors available. A great gift for a family relative to give! Check it out here.

Camp Blanket – For our younger campers, in particular the 3-Week session, the nights start of with a slight chill in the air. A warm blanket solves the problem and makes for a very comfortable night sleep. Our High Rocks Sweatshirt blankets are well loved by all. See our four color options here.

Headlamp – Camp gets dark at night! Every camper needs to bring a headlamp (or flashlight) to camp. We suggest a headlamp! Any headlamp between the $20-$40 range will work well. REI has a great selection. A great first year camp gift or a multi year camper gift.

Water bottle (x2) – Staying hydrated at camp is important, therefore, two water bottles are on the camp packing list. Most campers use our High Rocks Nalgene Water bottles. Buy them here. (Decorating with cool stickers is always a plus.) We will have more colors available prior to Summer 2022!

Backpack – While camp provides every camper with overnight backpacks, we do suggest a small day backpack! It needs enough room to carry a towel, water bottle, and maybe an extra pair of shoes. Something similar to this option from REI will work well. This can be a great upgrade idea for a multi year camper gift.

Camp Hat – An easy stocking stuffer or birthday gift item. We have a new style for Winter 2021!

Father-Son Weekend – Give Dad and your camper a this gift! The weekend is designed to give campers a taste of what camp is about before attending a full summer session. Campers and their fathers can try out the climbing wall, go canoeing on the lake, take a hike to a nearby waterfall, shoot a rifle, or select from many other activities. See Dates in May here.
