The mountains of Western North Carolina have some incredible mountain biking.  Camp High Rocks sits right in the middle of some world-class trail systems and public lands.  We are adjacent to Dupont State Forest which was ranked the #1 mountain biking destination in the country by Bicycling.com.  Our facility also hosts miles of trail on our 1000-acre property.  Check out our Mountain Biking Activity Video to get a better idea of our program.

Mountain Biking Position Announcements

Mountain Biking Director, Camp High Rocks, Cedar Mountain, NC

Director should have extensive experience with mountain biking, instruction, maintenance, and related outdoor skills. A good portion of our biking trips utilize the trails in DuPont State Forest (adjacent to our property) and Pisgah National Forest; though we do also venture into the Tsali area of the Nantahala National Forest. We have over 1000 acres with miles of trail on camp as well as the above forest facilities.

Responsibilities: Direct 4-5 mountain biking instructors. Instruct mountain biking skills, safety aspects, and appropriate use of bikes in the woods. Create lesson plans for the program. Lead biking trips on and off camp property, including occasional overnights.

Qualifications: At least 21 years of age. Experience leading a Mountain Biking program, clean driving record, Wilderness First Responder.

Benefits: From $320 to $500 for the nine week season and one week of orientation, depending on experience and qualifications. Training courses available in late May. Mountain Biking Instructors, Camp High Rocks, Cedar Mountain, NC

Instructors should have experience with mountain biking, teaching, maintenance, and related outdoor skills. A majority of our biking trips utilize the trails in Pisgah National Forest, and DuPont State Forest, though we do also venture into the Tsali area of the Nantahala National Forest.

Responsibilities: Mountain biking instructors teach skills, safety aspects, and appropriate use of bikes in the woods for campers 7 to 16 years old. Help lead biking trips on and off camp property. Male applicants would also be cabin counselors for a group of 5-7 boys. Female applicants would have additional program duties in place of cabin coverage.

Qualifications: At least 19 years of age or rising college sophomore. A strong interest in working with youth is a must, mountain biking experience preferable.

Benefits: From $260 to $420 per week for the nine week season, depending on experience and qualifications. Training courses available in late May.
