Swimming Instructors and Lifeguards

Camp High Rocks, a private boys camp in Western North Carolina, has instructor openings for it’s summer swimming program. Instructors should hold WSI and/or Lifeguard certifications, and experience teaching swimming is preferred. Focus of program is improving strokes and endurance, not competitive swimming.

Responsibilities: Instruct swimming lessons for all levels on our 11 acre lake. Help lead trips to Sliding Rock or river tubing trips for campers ages 7 to 16. Male applicants would also be cabin counselors for 5-7 boys. Female applicants would have additional program duties in place of cabin coverage.

Qualifications: At least 19 years of age or rising college sophomore. WSI or Lifeguarding certification highly preferred. Training and certifications are available.

Benefits: Starting range from $325 to $400 per week for the nine week season, depending on experience and qualifications. Training courses available in late May.
