It’s About Time!

In March of 2020, I had no idea how much time we would spend on messaging, planning, and hard decisions.  I can say that this time last year, camp was silent, and it was a strange place. Now, after 2 years of camp director energy, I felt the joy of controlled chaos and the sheer excitement of being outside with friends again.  Life at High Rocks was alive and kickin’!

It was so great to see all of you today.  I know it was a little like “ripping off a band-aid” and it may have seemed a little rushed.  What I noticed is that the boys were just super excited to be here!

We kicked the day off at lunch with some fantastic chicken fingers, chips, pineapple, salad, broccoli bacon salad, and watermelon!  From there we went right into a few rotations of camp details and kicked off some activities for the rest of the afternoon. At dinner, we enjoyed some pasta with alfredo, marinara, meat sauce, and pesto option.  We had corn, broccoli, salad, warm yeast rolls, and some fantastic pound cake.  Most all of our food is scratch-made so we know exactly what goes in it and the kids love it!

Below tonight’s blog is the link to the High Rocks Gallery. You will notice that our website and picture gallery is very user-friendly on most any device, including mobile and tablet devices.  This gallery is password protected. I sent out an automated email today with details for your login.  Please let me know if you need help getting into the gallery. Beginning tomorrow, I will put the picture link at the top of each post so you can find it easily.

It may make sense to save the link and log in to your browser for quick access. I will try my best to get the blog up by 9:30 pm each night, but sometimes camp does get in the way, or our rural internet has been quite slow (or even slower). Don’t fret!  We will get you the pictures as soon as we can! We are likely to push up some pictures throughout the day, but they will continue to go up until the blog is live.  Once the blog is up, it typically means that pictures are up for the day.

Don’t forget to follow us on social media.  We will make it worth your while by putting up a couple extra pictures and a special video from time to time during the day.  Twitter: @CampHighRocks. Facebook:  Camp High Rocks, and on Instagram: #camphighrocks. Feel free to throw up some of these great pictures to share on your feed.  We like making High Rocks look good!

It is an honor and a privilege to host your son here at High Rocks.  We will do our best to give him the best possible experience summer camp has to offer. If you ever need anything, please reach out.  It is going to be an amazing three weeks!
