Last Saturday

Wow! What a beautiful day!  Blue skies with just enough clouds to make it pretty.  I love Saturday mornings because it is one of the few mornings we do not have an executive team meeting.  It allows me to enjoy the morning a little bit more.

Hiking enjoyed some car camping days.  Picture a drive-in campground and you probably have the idea.  Lawn games, music, a hillbilly hot tub (pick-up filled with water), and smores around the fire. Add a little music, and it was just nice to be around each other.

Some of the oldest boys were running time trails on our Shrimpers mountain bike loop.  It is the trail they will use for tomorrow’s upper senior challenge.  I can’t believe how much these boys complain about being tired, but then go and run five laps on this course.  You can tell they don’t want to miss a beat.

I do have some housekeeping notes from Darby. If you are planning on shipping a trunk/duffle home there are two steps. First, please fill out the UPS Store’s form here. If you have questions, you are welcome to call UPS at (828) 883-4701. Second, please email our office to let us know that you wish to have your trunk/duffle shipped and we will deliver your item(s) to the UPS store on Closing Day.

You could see some of the guys getting a little tired out there. There is just so much to do every day, the guys get worn out. Tonight is a little more relaxed. Each cabin has its own ‘Pizza Pack-Out” that they can take and eat anywhere in camp. After they turn in all of their trash and recycling, the rest of the evening is a chill session. Tomorrow will be a little later wake-up. I believe even the little Hillside guys are likely to take advantage of it.

As we turn the corner into the last week of camp, many boys still have some goals to reach.  I am looking forward to helping them reach those goals.  It is going to be a fantastic week.

Have a Great Night!
