Mountain Biking at Camp High Rocks

Mountain biking at Camp High Rocks is more than just riding bikes. It is an adventure in growth, confidence, and connection with the outdoors. As a premier mountain biking summer camp, skill progression is at the center of everything we do. Campers are guided through a progression system that helps us meet each boy where he is and support him as he builds skills and confidence on two wheels.

Riding Trails at Camp and Beyond

Progression opens the door to riding beyond camp. Camp High Rocks is located just minutes from DuPont State Recreational Forest and Pisgah National Forest, offering access to an extensive trail network with varying terrain and difficulty levels. Campers are invited on mountain biking trips that match their current skill level, allowing them to apply what they have learned in real trail settings while riding in smaller groups with experienced staff.

What Are Trips Like?

Mountain biking trips are typically half-day adventures on longer trails, ridden in smaller groups for more time on the bike and more FUN!. Without a doubt, Ridgeline is the favourite trail for both campers and counselors. Trips are more than just riding trails; it’s about putting the skills learned at camp into practice while learning trail etiquette and respect for other riders. For many boys, these rides become the highlight of their camp experience!

The Ultimate Goal

The goal of our mountain biking summer camp program is simple: help boys become confident riders while having fun and building a passion for biking. Through progression-based instruction, supportive coaching, and trail rides, campers build skills that last well beyond the summer. Our mountain biking program encourages growth, independence, and a lifelong love of riding, all starting with the next step in their progression.
