Tonight marks the midpoint of camp for many, and the bittersweet final evening for our Mini I guys! The day had a nice and cool start that ended with a very, very light sprinkle to send campers off to the cabins for their nighttime routines.
We had delicious meals today!
Breakfast: Eggs, English Muffins, Hashbrowns, Sausage Patties, Cereal, Yogurt, and Fruit bar
Lunch: Chicken Sandwiches or Pizza with our Salad Bar
Dinner: Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan Bread, Rice, Roasted Carrots with our Salad Bar. Delicious, tart lemon bars for dessert.
It was another classic, action-packed day at camp! Morning assembly was bursting with energy as the cabin inspection scores were revealed. Excitement was high for our July Mini I campers, who have been working hard to keep their spaces tidy. Four cabins scored so high over the past two weeks that they earned a well-deserved pizza lunch celebration!
Watching these guys work together and take care of their cabins is incredibly rewarding and we secretly hope they bring a bit of that tidiness home with them. Meanwhile, our Four-Weekers checked in on their own progress today and will continue to work towards their own pizza party celebration later in the session.
To wrap up their time with us, our Mini I campers gathered at campfire for a special closing ceremony. Under the glow of a roaring fire, they loaded up on s’mores and sang camp songs before settling into a quieter, more reflective mood. Because camp passes in such a blur, we love taking this moment to help them look back on everything they’ve achieved over the past two weeks. It gives them a real sense of pride in how much they’ve grown and, of course, opens the floodgates for plenty of hilarious memories and inside jokes!
July Mini I Families – We look forward to seeing you between 9:45 and 11:00 am tomorrow. Once you have picked your son up, you are welcome to walk around and visit the camp store!
A quick tip: Your camper may fall asleep on the ride home! They have given 100% of their energy to camp life these past two weeks. Try to ask a few questions before they fade out, or save the big chat for after a long night of sleep in their own bed.
Questions to ask: Instead of asking “How was camp?” (which usually gets a one-word answer), try these specific questions on the ride home:
Our advanced riders had a great time trying out our new cross-country course through our pastures. The photos are great! Check them out! Barn Director, Dom, said there were a lot of “whoops” of joy!
