May 7 – May 9, 2021
May 14 – May 16, 2021
Dads, come spend your weekend in the Blue Ridge Mountains at Camp High Rocks! You are invited to attend our Seventh Annual Father-Son Weekend. Our Father-Son Weekend is open to currently enrolled campers and prospective families who have boys ages 6-12 years of age. *If space allows, older campers and older brothers may also attend. Please check in with us about availability.* The weekend is designed to give campers a taste of what camp is about before attending a full summer session. If your son has been to camp before, it is a wonderful weekend for him to show you everything he loves about camp. While everyone has a blast just being at camp, the real gift is giving both fathers and sons quality time to spend and form stronger relationships together.
Campers and their fathers can try out the climbing wall, go canoeing on the lake, take a hike to a nearby waterfall, shoot a rifle, or select from many other activities. Activities you can try include:
- Rock Climbing
- Lake Canoeing
- Stand Up Paddle Boards
- Water Slide & Rope Swing
- Waterfall Hike
- Gaga Ball
- Saturday Night Campfire

By hosting Family Retreats in Summer 2020, we have experience in running family programming during COVID. We are putting all that experience into hosting your Father-Son Weekend. This year’s Father-Son Weekend will involve a few changes to how we normally do things to keep safety at the forefront.
Enjoy the cool air of the mountains in your own private screened-in cabin. Cabin sides will be booked for one family only. With one family per side, you have even more room to spread out and enjoy private bathrooms! All cabins have their own bathroom and shower area along with their own entry/exit doors. If you would like to stay with friends, you may request to be on the same side of a cabin together.
Camp High Rocks is offering a chance to get outside and enjoy the wonder of camp in a way that allows for social distancing. The weekend will be full of activities! We will still have the list of offerings we have in past years. This year we will be scheduling activities to promote social distancing. Masks will be required in some areas due to proximity to staff and other families.
Meals At Camp
Camp High Rocks is known for delicious food! At this time, we are planning to have meals in the dining hall with plenty of space between families and masks while moving around inside. You can expect food that will appeal to the dads and campers! From Sunday morning cinnamon rolls to plenty of fruit, we know how to make food that everyone loves. Father-Son is all-inclusive, therefore, you will receive all meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. And of course, there will be snacks available during the day as we know everyone can get a bit hungry from running to different activities!
Plan on arriving on Friday afternoon and staying through Sunday lunch. Throughout the weekend you will try activities, hangout by the lake, and enjoy evening programs created just for you! Are you ready to go down the zip line and then jump in the lake to paddle board? Imagine an action packed weekend schedule meant to show you all the fun parts of camp. It is our goal to make this your best weekend of the year!
