Welcome Junior Campers

It sure was an incredible opening day! The perfect weather was delightful! I get so excited to meet new families. It was so great to see how excited the boys were to be here this morning. They have been waiting all summer for this week. It sure was a great way to kick it off. I sure hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Thank you for joining me here. I hope you join us each night. While we do have a lot of guys who have been to a Father-Son Weekend before, everyone here is enjoying their first High Rocks overnight summer camp experience for the first time! Our hope is to make High Rocks their home for a few weeks each year just as these four-week families have. It’s a wonderful ride to see these boys grow in just a few days. I look forward to sharing all we do each day with you all. I hope you find the time enjoyable, educational, and helpful.

All of the campers were here by 10:45 am, which allowed us to move into our first activity rotation before lunch. After a tasty lunch of chicken fingers, fresh-cut melon, and salad bar, we were ready to take on the afternoon. The boys are enjoying all sorts of introductions to some of what we offer in our longer sessions.  Today we hit some swim tests, canoeing, climbing, shooting sports, and tie-dye in crafts.

Below tonight’s blog is the link to the High Rocks Gallery. You will notice that our website and picture gallery is very user-friendly on almost any device, including mobile and tablet devices. To get all the details and features like face tag, image download, and navigation; please check out the notes and details here at  Gallery Help and Highlights.  This gallery is password protected. If you are new to the gallery, you should have received an automated email today with details for your login (check your spam folder).  If you are a returning family, use the email address that you received in the opening day email.  Your password is the same as last year. If you cannot remember, just use the “forgot password” link to retrieve a new one.

It may make sense to save the link and log in to your browser for quick access. I will try my best to get the blog up by 9:30 pm each night, but sometimes camp does get in the way, or our rural internet has been quite slow. Don’t fret!  We will get you the pictures as soon as we can! We are likely to push up some pictures throughout the day (typically a batch after rest hour), but they will continue to go up until the blog is live.  Once the blog is up, it typically means that pictures are up for the day.

Don’t forget to follow us on social media.  We will make it worth your while by putting up a couple of extra pictures and a special video from time to time during the day. Facebook:  Camp High Rocks, and on Instagram. Feel free to throw up some of these great pictures to share on your feed.  We like making High Rocks look good!

If you are interested in the high-resolution download, you can still order that for the session.  Just hit up Darby at office@highrocks.com.  She can just put it on your store account. It is $45.00 plus tax ($48.04 to be exact).  If you have pre-ordered a download subscription, Darby has not updated those yet, but she will have those updated tomorrow.

Woody, Zoob, and I, along with the entire High Rocks staff, are honored that you have chosen High Rocks for your sons’ personal growth.  We are all here to make sure your son has a great time along the way.  Please let us know if we can help with anything! I will try to capture the day’s events along with some lessons each night, so please tune in to read the details. If you ever need anything, please ask.

All the best,

-Don Gentle
